São Cristóvão, Porto Moniz and Fanal in one day
This full day joins three places: the São Cristóvão viewpoint, which no other jeep tour includes, the natural pools and village of Porto Moniz, and an hour among the old til trees of the Fanal forest. In between come waterfalls, Seixal's black-sand beach and a few quieter viewpoints. Small group, 6 guests at most.
What you'll see
- Terra Grande viewpoint (~15 min) - the first stop of the day
- Ponta Delgada viewpoint (~20 min)
- São Cristóvão viewpoint (~30 min) - a poncha, with the north coast cliffs in front of you
- Água d'Alto waterfall (~20 min) - a stop at the viewpoint over the falls
- Seixal (~25 min) - black-sand beach, time for a walk or a swim
- Porto Moniz (~2h) - lunch, the natural pools and the village, at your own pace
- Fanal forest (~1h) - laurel forest and centuries-old til trees, often in fog
- Paul da Serra and Ponta do Sol - back over the plateau with panoramic stops, ending in Ponta do Sol (~30 min)
The route
Pickup at your accommodation, then over the mountains to the north coast for the morning viewpoints and São Cristóvão. West along the coast to Seixal and Porto Moniz for the long midday stop, up to the Fanal forest in the afternoon, and south again over Paul da Serra to Ponta do Sol. Weather and road conditions can change the order.
